Barbatos or St Vincent?
I would like to visit Barbatos but sounds like it would be difficult to find any rooms under $100US and food is also pricy??
Just some guys going, we dont need anything fancy, St Vincent sounds very nice and maybe in our price range, any input??
Thanks

Depending on time of year, availability of packages, and what you are willing to accept in terms of hotels, you may be able to find a hotel in the $100/night range in Barbados. I would suggest looking at options on the South Coast (St Lawrence Gap, Rockley Beach, etc) versus the West Coast, which has mostly expensive hotels. Another advantage of the Rockley/Accra Beach areas and St. Lawrence Gap is that you can get around easily by local bus or walking.
There are a range of dining options and prices, from fast food to very nice restaurants. There are several small, inexpensive restaurants in a little shopping plaza right near Rockley Beach. Just Grillin is there and is a good for simple and inexpensive lunches or dinners. There also is a Friday night fish fry at Oistins (sp?) that is fun and cheap.

There are many good accommodations at a budget price in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. The problem would be cost of getting there. Local cuisine restaurants would be the least expensive. I rent an efficiency apartment on the beach which has everything you need. I shop at the local grocery and cook some meals myself.
I have only been to Barbados in transit so of no help with any info. info

You can take LIAT or Caribbean Sun/Star from Barbados to St. Vincent. I'd suggest Mariners Hotel on St. Vincent - it is at waters edge and has a nice restaurant with a couple other restaurants nearby.
Barbados is one of the most expensive islands in the Caribbean!

I am going to Bequia which is part of St Vincent and the Grenadines in April, we are staying at the Village Apartments for $85 a night. It is expensive to fly there as compared to flying to Barbados. We also went Barbados and stayed at the Meridian Inn. It was not fancy, but it was clean, close to the beach and many places to eat. It was also cheap. We only ate at one expensive place. We went to the fish fry which was very cheap, we also ate cheaply when the vendors cooked outside in St Lawrence Gap. Hope this post helps.
