AXA or SXM Flight?
We're planning a trip to Anguilla in May and trying to figure out whether to fly to AXA or take a direct flight from NYC to SXM and then a ferry? I'm leaning towards the SXM option as it seems easier, quicker and cheaper, but would greatly appreciate feedback you might have. Thanks!

It's 20-25 minutes by boat -- we always take the cheaper route & AXA never wins that. Also, the Eagle has been somewhat unreliable in the past so you could end up spending valuable beach/sun time sitting in an airport in San Juan.

The only issues are; customs in SXM is more congest, then lugging luggage from SXM a fair way to the cab, then buying a ferry ticket, lugging luggage to the ferry, boat ride is okay, luggin luggage to customs in AXA, going through customs (easy at the ferry dock), and then taking cab to your hotel.
Personal preference rather than save some bucks, I would connect to AXA through San Juan and only touch the luggage on departure from NY and arrival at AXA. My choice is don't touch the luggage, especially if you are traveling with kids.
No matter what, AXA is great!
