Is this feasible? ferry from SXM to AXA
I am planning a suprise 10th anniversary trip for my husband & myself. Is is unthinkable to arrive in St Martin around 2:00pm, have lunch, shop a little then take a ferry to Anguilla? Our flight from PGH would not arrive in Anguilla until 11:00pm but we can get to St Martin by 2:00. I like the thought of the ferry compaired to taking an inner-island flight. Is it still daylight around 6:00pm - 7:00pm? Where could we deposit our luggage during this time? What do you think?

Its very doable, except I do not know what to tell you where to store your luggage. The ferries run every half hour-40 minutes from Marigot to Blowing Point. The last ferry is about 6pm, not sure of the exact time of the last run. Marigot is about 20-30 minutes or less from the airport, so it makes no sense leaving it there. Lots of places to have lunch and shop. I just know when I get to Marigot it is so hot, I am ready to get on that ferry to tranquill Anguilla. The ferry is the only way we have ever taken to the island. It is easy, once we are in SXM I feel the trip has started!

It can definately be done as Penny mentioned. you must have lots of energy........all we want to do after travelling is get directly to our destination and into our swimwear, grab a bottle of champagne, go for a swim and think of where we will go for dinner!

I agree with Penny and Sandyfeet, go straight to the ferry.
Nowhere in Marigot to leave luggage, and trying to lug it with you for lunch at the marina and thru the shop will be a big hazzle,
better to go back to St.Maarten on a morning ferry, shop in little boutiques Marigot, have lunch at the marina, and when the shops close for lunch (it is France) head back to Anguilla's peaceful beaches.

Another option--Go straight to the ferry on the way over. When you depart Amguilla take an early AM ferry--go to the airport in St Matteen and check your luggage and then shop in Phillipsburg where the majority of the duty free stores are
