Yes, it will be mobbed.. best bet is to remember that you are in the bahamas.. Everything is slower, more relaxed, no urgency. If you remember to "chill out", you'll do fine.
Be sure to bring along snacks for the kids, *juice boxes, granola bars, Pringles, ceral boxes etc. You can bring along anything you want (except fresh fruit and veggies)..
Also.. invest in masks and snorkels for the kids and bring them along.. the rentals are expensive and are ill- fitted..

We just returned from a great trip to the Atlantis. My tips:
1. If your child is not 48 inches, he or she cannot ride the slides. They don't cut you any slack on this. If your child is close to (but over) 48 inches, have the supervisor measure him/her for a special bracelet. That way the staff at the top of the slide won't turn you away.
2. Eat at least one night at Anthony's (across the street from the beach tower, towards the comfort suites). They have fresh local seafood as opposed to the cod and salmon on the Atlantis menus.
3. There is a movie theater by the convention center. Our kids watched a movie there one night (free!) while we had a quick dinner.
4. Forget the snorkel gear. There's nothing to see at the beach. And for a weekend, there's no reason to leave the resort. Save the snorkelling trip for a time you are not spending a fortune for waterslides and aquariums.
5. Invest in a poolside massage (by the beach tower).
6. Enjoy!
