Aruba - what are the downsides if any?

I would not call them downsides, but rather features…
- Its a dry, desert island. No lush hillsides covered in banana and palm trees. That also means no humidity and few or no bugs…
- The coastline is basically strait, so none of the idyllic picture post card coves youll find in say the USVI.
- All beaches are public so you always get a mix of cruise ship day trippers, short term visitors, long term visitors, and island residents. I love that, but some may prefer a more exclusive setting.
- No real town worth visiting. There is the capital / cruise ship port but with 3 or 4 mega ships docking each day its best just to avoid.
- If you stay at a mega hotel in palm beach area you may feel surrounded by crowds of New Yorkers, Bostonians, with a few Canadians, Dutch, and other nationalities thrown in. Thats not my vibe which is why prefer a condo in Eagle Beach.
