Aruba-sunburn???
Going to Aruba in March. Everyone I've talked to says you have to go to the tanning booth or you'll burn in that sun. Is it true that the tanning booth will help you prevent sunburn???? I'm fair skinned and use #30 sunscreen. Help!!!

I, too, am going to Aruba in March, am fair-skinned and use an SPF of 45. As a person who has melanoma in my famaily I can tell you that I never do tanning booths. I just spent Christmas with my niece who is a dermatologist with her own practice and I brought the subject up with her and she concurred with what our doctors tell us - NO TANNNING BOOTHS. Use common sense. Wear a hat, apply your sunscreen frequently, avoid the sun betweeen the hours of 10am and 2pm as much as possible and pace your time in the sun.

We went last March. My family is fair skinned and we did not pre-tan. We used 30/45 during most of the trip and we were outside the entire time. The kids bought surf shirts that kept them more protected. (I actually bought one too!) It was a good investment. Just bring a ton of sunscreen with you. It is expensive there.
