Aruba bound ! Yahoo ,need telephone info
Hi, we just booked a trip to sunny Aruba in April and I was wondering if anyone out there can tell me if I can use an AT&T prepaid phone card to call home (US)from there. I have heard that some islands will not accept the prepaid cards. Thanks in advance.

Hi Millie - We returned from Aruba last night. ( It was our 8th trip there. ) You can buy a phone card there. They sell them all over. They also have a deal where you rent a cell phone for the week for $60 and all incoming calls are free. Outgoing ones were really cheap. They deliver it to your hotel!!

I just wanted to know if I brought a prepaid calling card with me from the US that I can get at Cosco or Sam's for $20.00 to call my kids, if it would work. I really don't want a cell phone attached to me all week. Just want to get away. My question is, do I have to buy the phone card there, or will the one I have work. Thanks

Most of the other islands I have visited allow you to use your regular credit card on their phones. There are so many different types of phone cards, it would be advisable to buy one there. That way it would work, you never know about ones bought stateside.<BR>Ronnie

Millie - Buy one down there. They have their own network called Setar. You must go through their network. Calls from our hotel were $9.95 for 5 minutes. There are pay phones around that charge $13.95 for 5 minutes. The phone cards are as cheap as 22cents per minute.
