Aruba Cheap Food?

I have read the tour books on Aruba and the fodors posts and most restaurants that are described seem very expensive. I see there is a place (I think)called Kings, which is described as very simple and has great Barbeque. I have read as well that there are other cheap simple places that serve local food. Does anyone have any recommendations for inexpensive restaurants in Aruba?

MW,

More info would be helpful. This is for dinner I am assuming, correct? What is your budget per person / couple?

I would say around $20 per person or less.

The place is called King Ribs. It's on the main highway going towards town on the left (if you are going from the highrise section). It's very good. There is a guy in the back maning several huge grills cooking pork, steak, chicken, and fish. Cheap and good.

Peace, Greenie

Que' Pasa - is great and it was referred to us from a local. It's less expensive than other places.

Rumba- another good place that is cheaper than most.

Aruba also has alot of the fast food chains that we do in the US.

The Radison has a $20.00 (plus 15% service charge)per person buffet every night of the week. Every night it is a different menu.

I believe King Ribs is the restaurant you are referring to.

Also, for inexpensive meals, we enjoyed Salt & Pepper (across from Hyatt) and Iguana Joes (downtown). Both were very good.

El Gaucho is a pretty infamous steakhouse in Aruba, and we found their prices to be quite good, as well.

Hope this helps.

Enjoy.

Nos Cunucu is local and very inexpensive.

Bingo, Tulip and the Garden Restaurant at the Mill resort offer good values as well.

King Ribs
Tony Roma's
Pizza Bob's
Tomato Charlie's
Iguana Joe's
Alfredo's
All good restaurants which are within the $20 pp rate with good/great food. Some serve "local" food; all serve a variety.

Linda's Pancake and Pizza is great and very inexpensive. There pizza is good and the pancakes are great. They are thinner than we are used to with anything you can imagin in them and they are the size of a dinner plate. We go every year and have pizza for dinner and split an apple pancake for desert.
