How expensive is Aruba?

I have heard Aruba is very expensive... Are there any inexpensive restaurants, or even fast food choices anywhere?

Yes, there is a wide variety of places to eat on Aruba. Including fast food.

Not expensive (other than airfare, sometimes) - lots of fast food places, buses are a good deal, some fairly inexpensive hotels.

However, we had trouble finding mid-priced places to eat (a step up from fast food, but not expensive).

There are restaurants in every price range. A good inexpensive place is Salt n Pepper across from the Radisson and Hyatt in the high rise section.

I think expensive is relative. We live in Massachusetts and I find Aruba's restaurants to be priced in the same range as here at home. And the good thing about Aruba is there are good restaurants in all price ranges.

In my opinion, Aruba is one of the least expensive islands in the Caribbean. Agree that it is difficult to find "mid-range" choices.

when I see folks saying Aruba is inexpensive I laugh...which means they are willing to pay US prices or more!

Compare the cost of a $20 modern beach hotel room in the Dom. Rep...where they grow their own food...to that of Aruba...where it takes $60-70US to find anything even close to it, and an island that must import 90% of its food needs...and you'll see that the comments so far are quite limited and subjective.

Aruba is not a cheap island to visit!

Do you want to see what inexpensive looks like:

This place should be over $350 any place else...yet it is only 1/3 of that:
