Anyone familiar with Villa Renaissance?
Looks like a new resort located on Grace Bay in Turks and Caicos, between Allegro and Point Grace. Luxury.link.com (recommended by Howard on this forum) is promoting it and the rates look very reasonable -- $400 for a one bedroom ocean suite at high season. Would appreciate any comments on the location and/or the resort.

We saw Villa Renaissance in June 2003 just before it opened. It is lovely. There are a couple of tennis courts and very nice pool. There are six cottages around the pool and the rest of the suites are beachfront. We went to Provo April 2004 and considered staying at Villa Renaissance. Called and asked if they had any grand opening specials and never heard back from them so we stayed at Coral Gardens. Only downside to VR is no on site restaurant on site yet. It will be built when they build the next building of suites. No big deal as all suites have kitchens and it is across from the new Salt Mills Shopping Plaza where there is Salt Mills Cafe (Breakfast and Lunch), Bambooze -a sports bar and Jasmines restaurant --Asian-entrees about $30 to $36. You are also within walking distance of Danny Buoys an Irish pub, Chicken in puff pastry, fish and chips and chicken pot pie very good. Ports of Call shopping Plaza is also walkable there there is Barefoot Cafe, Calico Jacks and 28 North good fairly inexpensive food. Bay Bistro at Sibonne and Hemmingways at the Sands are also walkable
My personal opinion re Provo resorts--With all the new building-Pinnacle, Sommerset, The Palms, Le Velle and more there is going to be a lot of competion (Price War) for the tourists dollar and would expect to see some good deals. This is starting to happen with T&C Club offering 50% off a couple of times a year and the $400 for Villa Renaissance which I think is a good deal and wouldn't hesitate to stay there at that price. Thought the rack rates were quite expensive. Hope this helps

We have stayed at the Villa Renaissance a couple of times and love it. It is quiet and the beach is not at all crowded. We don't mind not having a restaurant on the premises as we eat in or for dinner go out. As Howard mentioned many places are in walking distance. The pool is lovely. The condos themselves are beautiful with wonderful spacious balconies. The view from the ocean front condos is stunning. Enjoy!!
