Anguilla Beach Restaurants (lunch)

Hi,

I'm going to Anguilla with my husband for 5 days and was curious if anyone had any favorite low-key lunch spots on the beach they could recommend.

Thanks!
Rebecca

No shortage of those on Anguilla! One of my favorites is Gwen's on Shoal Bay East -- liked it so much we went twice in a 5-day trip. The size of the beach can vary with recent weather events. Another one is Nat's Palm Grove, on a deserted beach (Savannah Bay, I think). You place your order, hit the sand for an hour, then come back for amazing grilled fish and johnnycake. For a higher-end experience, but still authentically Anguillan, try Bankie Banx' Dune Preserve on Rendezvous Bay, just steps from the Cuisinart resort. There are a few spots in Road Bay.

Elodia's on Shoal Bay East is also good spot for a low key lunch.

Not on the beach but worth visiting to pick up delicious pastries to go is Gerauds!

On Meads Bay, I love Jacala and the new Blanchard's spot, Beach Shack.

How could I forget the Straw Hat, which is also on Meads Bay?

All of the above, and:
Ferryboat Inn for the best burgers and rum punch on the island.
Dolce Vita in Sandy Ground - great pizzas and salads
Strawhat, Meads Bay - wonderful fresh menu.
Jacala - Meads Bay - try the goat cheese and watermelon salad.
Trattoria Tramento - Shoal Bay West, outstanding.
Sunshine Shack - Rendezvous Bay - ribs and chicken.

Just got back from a week's visit and loved DaVita's on Crocus Bay for lunch and great loungers (check out Omari Banks on Sundays); also Smokey's is a fun lunch place with music (on Saturdays I think) and on a great beach. Enjoy!

Agree with all the above. DaVida on Crocus Bay and Dolce Vita in Sandy Ground both fantastic, and I love Nat's johnnycakes. Smokey's on Saturday to listen to the Musical Brothers. No one has mentioned Scilly Cay. And while Blue at Cap Juluca is not my favorite restaurant, it is on my favorite beach

Johnno's in Sandy Ground. Casual, best lobster salad no the planet and fabulous jazz on Sundays.

We just got back from Anguilla and certainly Blanchard's beach shack is convenient since we stay at Carimar in Meads Bay. Trattoria Tramonto (rendesvouz bay) has great paninis for lunch. All others mentioned earlier, you can not go wrong. Enjoy Anguilla, tranquility wrapped in blue indeed.
