Amway at Peter Island?!? like Wal-Mart at Bergdorf-Goodman?!?

I've heard horror stories about Amway orgies (not literally) at PI. Is this still an issue or has the property offically changed hands? I'm seriously considering a spring vacation down there and would welcome any and all recent reviews. I've seen the recent postings as well, thanks all.

Oh my God Amway! I will never forget the time our neighbors talked us into attending an Amway rally. Man, it was like one of those old time tent revival meetings. Every speaker got up and told us how he/she was poor as mud, in a dead end job, and thanks to Amway and Jesus they were now rich and drove a Caddie. Of course, they were tears streaming down their cheeks as they told the story of how Amway and Jesus changed their lives. It was so creepy. God willing I will never see an Amway seller while I am in the islands.

Amway has not owned Peter Island for several years. There is nothing Amway related on the island whatsoever.

The prior poster is right Amway no longer owns the island. However when they did it was not all that bad. The only thing we noticed was the Amway products in the bath. While were not impressed with their ownership, I have heard that things have greatly improved. It is a nice island and great transportation is provided from Tortola. Remember that the hurricane damage was great a few years back and things are almost all new.

like much folklore the horror stories are greatly exaggerated by yachties who were put off by the need to abide by the dresscode and some of the prices of the drinks. the closest one ever came to Amway was the toiletries in the bath. even if there happened to be Amway folk staying there, there was never a hint of Amway commercialism nor would anyone be aware that anyone was in anyway connected to Amway. <BR>The owner now is a partner in the Amway corportation and has made signifigant changes that has made it even much better than what it was before. And before it was close to perfection.
