30th Wedding Anniversary.

No, I'm not asking for suggestions, I'm merely gloating

After a couple of hard hours (yeh, right!) I have today booked Nisbet Plantation for our 30th wedding anniversary and my birthday (both on the same day, next Monday) We were last there for our 25th anniversary and my 43rd birthday.

Flights and a Parksleepfly hotel for the night before we leave are booked, now I just need to book a hire car although I might leave that until we get there.

We fly out on Saturday for 7 blissful days and this time next week I WILLhave a cocktail in hand to celebrate

I'm already on island time

Me neither. I'm jealous. I just spent our vacation money for this year on:

1.) A new computer that died of viruses.

2.) A new frig that died.

3.) Plumbing for a bathroom sink that flooded the bathroom and the adjoining guestroom. Had to repair the adjoining wall, floor, baseboards and flooring in both rooms.

Have fun!

Alya, Lucky duck... have a great anniversary, a wonderful birthday and a few Killer Bees at Sunshine's!

KVR, if I were you I'd never spend 'vacation money' on anything else again!!

Too funny sassy! I came back to tell KVR that I'd raise a beaker of Killer Bee and think of her at Sunshine's

Now I'll just have to raise a second plastic beaker to you too

And me, too, please! I love killer bees!

Congrats, alya, on the anniversary and happy birthday.

Can I ask ... are you flying out of Logan? Is there a close ParkSleepFly hotel? I had looked for one last year and no one had good rates on parking.

Yes we are flying out of Logan - it's become a tradition with us to go Santarpio's for pizza and kebabs the night before we leave MA so our vacation will begin around 3pm this coming Friday

We're staying at the Holiday Inn that we've stayed at before in South Boston.

In 2010 we left the car there for 3 weeks while we were in England for DD2's wedding and then Jamaica for a week. We didn't even come the 30 miles home - just went to the hotel and swapped out the clothing

All in (taxes included) it's going to be $255 plus change, for that we get breakfast, 10 days free parking, a shuttle to the airport and the vacation begins the day before we fly out.

Anybody else want me to raise a 'glass' to them? DH will be driving so I can stagger to the car, go back to Nisbet and collapse before dinner

Thanks for that info. We had a very early flight out last year and decided to stay at one of the airport hotels, the Hilton I believe, but the parking was $40/night with no break at all for parking. We decided to take a car service, which we usually do anyway since parking at Logan is expensive and we usually travel long enough for it to almost be a wash. I'll check out the Holiday Inn for future reference. That's a great rate.

Have a great trip!

sharona, we usually stay at the 4points Sheraton for ParkSleepFly. Rates vary but can be as low as $150 a night.
We're paying $189 in November (booking ahead helps!).

sassy - we've stayed at the Sheraton in Revere also, their shuttle service is 24hours a day so for an early flight they are the better choice and their rates are less than the Holiday Inn.

I was just pleased this time to even find a hotel with availability - plus one that we've stayed at before and within walking distance to Target. I always forget something

I've already started packing. DD1 is going to dog sit and we have people popping in during the day to let them in and out, and in and out, and in and out

Thanks sassy. I'll keep the 4Points in mind as well for future reference. Those flights to the Caribbean are just way too early!

We got the confirmation email yesterday and Nisbet had upgraded us to the Upper Premier Junior Suites.

A lovely thought but it doesn't work for us, a simple email has put us back in the Deluxe Garden Suites.

Most people would be thrilled with an upgrade but not us
