Vancouver-whistler-Victoria
Please Help
We are planning a trip to Vancouver from Dec 24,05 returning Dec 30. We are travelling from Atlanta , GA. We have 3 teenagers who want to ski in Whistler. 3 Adults don't ski. Staying in Whistler looks like out of our budget. So we have booked rooms in Squamish for first three nights. We have a rental car & plan to drive to Whistler every day from Squamish & back. Last two days we would like to explore Vancouver & Victoria. I know this is very ambitious itinery Can someone please give us some suggestions.

Staying in Squamish will be doable.
Vancouver then Victoria in two days is overreaching yourself-stay and enjoy the city and leave Victoria to another trip.
While in Squamish one great little place to eat-I don't know their holiday schedule-is Mirasol Bakery Cafe.
Apart from that I hope you have a kitchen where you're staying-Squamish is something of a culinary wasteland at the moment.

If you stay in Squamish, leave as early as possible so as not to get caught up in bad traffic. It doesn't take much to back up traffic on the narrow twisty road to Whistler.
What are the non-skiers doing while the skiers are at Whistler? If everyone is heading up to Whistler each day, you might want to look into lodging in Pemberton (beyond Whistler), which is closer to the slopes.
If the skiers are parking and then skiing all day, here is a tip on where to park at Whistler. From the highway, turn right onto Village Gate Blvd, then right onto Blackcomb Way. After you pass the Blackcomb Base, turn left onto Glacier Drive, which winds up past the day lodge and gondola mid-station. There is a parking lot to the left, which, if you get there early enough, will allow you to park right on the edge of a slope, right next to a little platter-pull lift. From there, you can ski down to the Whistler base, or hop on the gondola to go up Blackcomb. At the end of the day, ski right down to your car, or if you are at Whistler, take the Excalibur gondola to the mid-station, and you have a very short walk to your car.

Have you looked on www.alluradirect.com it is a web site that rents homes/condos by the owners. You can put your price range in the selection bars and see what turns up.
