We will only have two days, one night in Vancouver following an Alaskan cruise. Would prefer no car, and want to be near easy downtown walks and restaurants. I suspect this means the West End area, correct? Can anyone help with hotel recommendation, please - looking for good location, clean and not too expensive, rather than fancy and pricey. It's only one night, though bonus points do apply for quaint like a B&B.

I often stay at the Blue Horizon; comfortable and convenient

The Sylvia is another option; right on English Bay: very minimal ( that's minimal not minimalist!) but clean and friendly

What about the Listel? I was able to get a better rate there than the Blue Horizon. Is it equally convenient?

The Listel is a couple blocks further up Robson towards Stanley Park so it's not quite as centrally located for the parts of downtown that are in the other direction, but still reasonably convenient. I've stayed there and it's fine.
