United's Spring "Canada Sale"
I just thought I would post this for any Fodorites traveling to Canada this year. United is having a sale on airfares to Canada. You must book by 2/12/09, but is valid on travel through October.
The flights for this summer that I looked at 3 days ago were running about $500+ RT, and now are showing up at around $300.

I checked from LAX to YVR, returning from YYJ in August and it was about $330. (it was $550 the last time I looked) I'm waiting for the exact dates that my MIL is coming from Munich before I can book.
I haven't looked again, but I linked through the travelzoo website: http://airfare.travelzoo.com/north-a...ng=&tppct=
Good luck!

Thank you, lvk. I went on the website that you so kindly provided, however although there was an attractive price ($134 each way), I could not find it on the United link. Every time I tried to find the sale price, I came up with a rt trip price of $349. Any ideas?

I got 329.36 USD Kansas City to Vancouver with a stop in Chicago, round trip going in July. Flying into Seattle is $653.40. This is at United.com.
Checking LAX to YVR returns $349.06. I will never understand airline pricing.

Uh-oh, sounds like I should have pushed that button when I found those fares, because now I don't see them. Oh well, $349 isn't bad. I can put the fare into YAPTA and get a voucher if it goes down. We did this for our LAX-Toronto flights and ended up with UAL vouchers for $180/each when the fare decreased.
annetti, since the promo is for flights from now thru October I'm sure that $134 fare was for dates in low season. I doubt you'll find it for the summer.

Thank you,lvk.
Icthecat: I tried the websites you suggested, too. Thank you. The prices come out the same with United and Alaska when you add the cost of the $15 luggage fee per person ea way. Westjet is more expensive. Usually I buy tickets early, but this yr, I may wait and see. I hate this "no refund" policy, so I will wait a bit longer.
