Ucluelet hotel advice -- seeking GREAT close ocean view for quiet couple
Looking for quiet, privacy, will pay around $300 per night., **want to be close to water with great view of same**, and in a place without surprises, such as construction next door, etc. We don't care about attention from B&B owners, but want a nice place. Have traveled all over Canada, we love it, but never to Vancouver or west of Vancouver. The only problem with Trip Advisor is I never know who's writing them, unless there are numerous bad reviews.

When are you going? I ask because if it's in the next month or two, you may not have a lot of options because most places will be booked.
And is there a particular reason you're restricting yourself to Uclulet? IMO Tofino is the more interesting town.

Walked through the new resort Black Rock - looks very luxe
and I think it would be very quiet and sedate. It's built
right on the edge of a rocky point so you are definately
close to the ocean.
We prefer Tofino for its open beach aspects but the Wild
Pacific Walk in Ucluelet is really spectacular.
Because Black Rock is new and big you might find occupancy
easier than the smaller established places.

So what have you found available for your dates and/or what places are you considering?
My favorite place to stay after many trips to Tofino is Middle Beach Lodge so I'd start there but for mid-August they may well be booked, and as I said in another post, you need to choose your room type carefully there.
The water views/waves crashing on the cliffs are pretty spectacular there as with many places just south of Tofino.

The only upscale hotel in Ucluelet is Black Rock and it is right on the ocean with wild waves crashing in on rocks, but not a beach. It is right on the Wild Pacific Trail.
There is also Waters Edge Resort

You can get a suite with a view of the harbour, (boats coming and going, I find that side noisy as they start to go out at 4AM), or the Inlet side which is much calmer and quieter.
Everything else in Ucluelet is either more budget minded or b and bs.
