Yes I have booked a B&B called Harvey House. The reviews are wonderful. I think we will enjoy it there with having a car to go into town and all around. The Wickaninnish Inn was definitely out of our price range.

I probably should add, that if you plan on taking the ferry into Nanaimo and renting a car from there – it's a good idea to reserve a vehicle beforehand. I'm sure you can do this in Vancouver when you know what day you'll be on the island. Wouldn't want you to show up at the ferry in Nanaimo and have them tell you they're all out of cars. Just in case.
