Toronto Visit in January???'s
We will be going to a family event in January. Considering both the Hyatt and Marriot - Would like some feedback from anyone who has stayed at both? Also we are limited on extra free time - are planning to go to the CN Tower, Eaton Center and Royal Ontario Museum. If we have time which should we consider the Art Museum or Science Center?

There are a lot of Marriott hotels in Toronto, including three in good downtown locations and one excellent Marriott at the airport.
Please narrow things down a bit, and we'll offer more help.
Go to the Science Centre if you have kids -- otherwise, it depends onyour interests.
The Eaton Center is a giant shopping center, with stores like many in the USA and other big cities, so if time is tight, well...
ROMuseum is across the street from the Hyatt, so that makes it easy to visit.

I would stay at the Hyatt. Beautiful hotel, nice area for walking.
The ROM, as BAK has advised, is right across the street and it is an excellent museum.
I too would bypass the Eaton Centre. If you want to look at stores do Bloor Street/Yorkville/Cumberland (right outside of your hotel if you stay at the Hyatt), some upscale and expensive shops but fun to look and Queen Street West for funky shops. The Eaton Centre is a large mall. (Unless you LOVE malls, then by all means go, because they have a ton of stores and it will be warmer inside).
Science Centre is great if you have kids 12 or so and under. They also have IMAX films (large screen movies).
Enjoy your stay. Post back if you would like further info.

If you mean the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO) than I would include it on your trip. They have a good collection of contemporary art, Canadian art and European masterpieces. Unfortunately, part of the Canadian collection is temporarily closed however the gallery is still worth a visit.

Both the AGO and the Science Center are worth visiting (SC particularly if you have kids) BUT you say you have limited free time.
The Science Center is not in downtown Toronto - it will take you at least 45min to 1 hour each way to get to it by public transit (less if you are renting a car, though) and then you will want to spend at least a few hours there to enjoy the experience.
The AGO is downtown and therefore you would have much easier access either by walking or through public transit.
Enjoy your visit!
