Toronto Colony Hotel- Gone?

In planning our trip to Toronto this summer, I have noticed the Colony's website is no more. What happened? It looked like a pretty good value hotel.

We love Toronto. We had a great time on our last visit and can't wait to return.

That hotel changes identities a lot. It was the Holiday Inn before it was the Colony. You might want to check tripadvisor.com (under Toronto hotels) to see if it has some new incarnation.

The Colony was taken over by the University of Toronto and converted to student residences.

And yes, it was a pretty good value.

The Metropolitan and the Eaton Center Marriott and the Delta Chelsea are the closest hotels to the neighborhood. The Mariott Courtyard on Yonge may be the most comparable bargain close by.
