I've stayed at a Monte Carlo and they are good. Nothing to extravigant, but clean and fairly new. Please note that Mississauga is about 30 minutes from Downtown Toronto. Tough to get anyting less than $100 anywhere near Toronto.

what about the Executive Motor Inn at King and Bathurst? I have never been inside but they list $70 Cdn outside (or rather they did last year) - some other Torontonian may know something about this - i mention it because the drive from Miss to Toronto can be a real pain in the ass as all the workers go to Toronto in the morning and come home again to Miss at night

Executive Motor Hotel is at 621 King Street West - phone 416-504-7441 email [email protected]
found a website for them by searching under www.toronto.com - ther prices have gone up some - from October they are from $89.95 Canadian - no personal experence of this place but its location is pretty good. Stay awawy from the motels listed on Lakeshore Road as most of them are the "rent by the hour" variety. Enjoy Toronto - ts a great town

If it being a genuine "motel" does not matter to you, the least expensive good hotels in downtown Toronto are the Strathcona and the Hotel Victoria. Any of the downtown / central hotels in the Choice Hotels company directory are good value for the price (Comfort Inn, Journey's End, Quality, and some other brands)

The Executive has been undergoing renovations. If they are finished, it should be much improved, and that may be why the rates are higher than before.

BAK
BAK
