Telegraph Cove -- Thoughs on the Resort? Dining?

Debating between Hidden Cove Lodge & Telegraph Cove Resort. Like the quaintness of the TC lodging...and the town looks picturesque. Read some reviews here in the past though that were saying there's some condo development nearby.

Does that really spoil the feeling?
Is it an attractive development or really not? Visible clearly from lodging?

Looks like they've recently renovated some units...wondering if it's improving.

Also, for dining, whether staying in the 'village' or at Hidden Cove...what do you recommend. Don't need fancy...just a place that might offer some vegetarian options too. Thanks so much!

Hidden Cove Lodge usually offers a choice of a few entrees for dinner -not a huge selection but well prepared.

There is one restaurant at Telegraph Cove that serves a varied menu and fairly decent food.

We stayed at Telegraph Cove three or four years ago and have dropped by two or three times since. Our small house there was very basic. The condos do detract a bit, for sure. They are directly across the little harbour from the other lodging.

It is not really a 'town' , just a small collection of accomodations, a couple of small gift shops, a small whale museum and a bit more.

For my money I prefer Hidden Cove Lodge.

Cheers

Jerry

Tow years ago we have stayed in the Telegraph Cove Marina. The suites are very luxury.

The road towards Telegraph Cove will be paved in June 2006. There a further condo's under development.

Tom is correct about the rental condos.
These are separate from the Telegraph Cove Resort -and by no means quaint. However if you want the atmosphere /wildlife etc Hidden Cove Lodge is the best bet.

Thanks so much. Was looking for picturesque...
wasn't clear if the condo's might have the better view since they might be looking at the older accomodations.

On the other hand, the older ones might look at the newer complex & actually seem less picturesque in that way. (altho' more our style, in general)

Hmmm...the potential wildlife at Hidden Cove mentioned on these threads certainly sounds tempting, altho' I kind of liked the sound of staying in the 'village' originally.

Will share w/hubby & see but if there's really a good shot at seeing a black bear at Hidden Cove (in any particular season?) then that would be fun!
