Wow, I'm actually a software developer but maybe I should consider a career in advertising!
I have also enjoyed reading the restaurant listings on Fodor's and thought it would be nice to contribute.
Having worked in Korea I really enjoyed visiting Insadong. If people are travelling to Vancouver and want to try something new, this restaurant might be something they want to check out. The food and service was excellent.
It's too bad they wouldn't allow us to "pick-out" the lobster we chose from the aquarium though...

Lots of great suggestions posted, however I noted that there was only a few asian restaurants mentioned.
My all time fave and inexpensive one is Phnom Phenh located off Chinatown that serves Cambodian/ Vietnamese. My mouth is already watering at the thought of fried garlic chicken wings and 'buttered' beef (carpaccio sliced beef marinated under a sweet soy-lime-garlic sauce. If you interested in a nice cantonese meal, Sun Sui Wah on Main St is always reliable but not exactly located downtown.
