As you probably don't know, the RCMP is the federal police, much like the FBI. If you are interested in seing cops dressed in police uniforms driving around the city, I'm sure you can find some, but for some reason, I doubt that this is what you were looking for .

The closest there is to a Mountie parade (mostly) is the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Musical Ride. This is an arena event, where mounties on beautiful horses ride them in formation, much to the delight of the audiences.

Musical ride mounties have special business cards with their photograph and their horse's picture on them, to give to kids.

There are no Musical Ride performances scheduled in Montreal currently, but maybe there will be later in the year. There are performances in Topsfield, Mass, and Raleigh, N.C. this fall.

If you go to http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/musicalride.htm you can find out more.

If that doesn't work for you, try http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/index_e.htm

It would be unlikely that you'd see Mounties in red coats on the street in Montreal, but they do wear thier red dress uniforms on special occasions when federal government officials and Canada-based 9as contrasted to Quebec-based) events take place. Otherwise, they have sort of convention police uniforms, and are fairly rare in Quebec, because they only look after certain categories of law enforcement in that province. BAK
