Me too! Yours is among the most complete and helpful reports I've read. I like the way you've divided the subjects too - very inventive!

Thanks for saying those things. I've never enjoyed writing, always a bit of a chore for me, but I consulted Fodor's so much for this trip (and a number of other trips) that I absolutely knew I wanted to try to return the favor. It's a bit discouraging when there's no response post after post; makes me wonder whether I'm being useful at all. I guess I will try to keep at it, even if it's just a few folks who're finding my in-put useful. All of it is "subjective" of course (as how could it not be), but presumably if people get enough reports from enough diff people it'll help them make informed decisions of their own. It certainly help me.

Hi poss; I can understand your discouragement at the lack of responses. I actually never finished one of my trip reports because of the same issue!

Anyway, please do carry on. Every personal trip report helps someone down the road. I'm enjoying yours; like myself, you put a lot of thought into those often forgotten small details. I'm also reminded again, how lucky I am to live in this part of the world and visit these amazing places whenever I choose.

Love your reports! Please don't be discouraged by us lazy respondents. I'm hoping for a trip next year and the personal info you're sharing is so much more useful than just reading the same things over and over in the published guides. Even the good ones (like Fodor's) have to shoot for the average traveller in their reviews. Knowing your preferences when you travel (which are very similar to mine) give an important perspective to understanding/using the specific information.

Poss,
I have been loving (and printing out) your trip reports which are just wonderful. My husband and I are scheduled to leave on Friday (Sept 22) and will follow in your footsteps in many places. Your reports are just great!!

Our only concern right now is that the weather forecast for the week will be in the Rockies looks pretty bad---rain, rain and rain. Hoping for the best!

Our report was for rain the whole time. We have been here since the 14th. We did have some snow showers the first day but no rain at all. Hope it continues that way since we are here until the 23rd.
Poss I found the report very interesting. I do prefer the lakes. Loved Peyto!

Good luck with the weather, travelers.
Gloseashore-- I hope the showers are maybe blowing out some of that smoke?
Maggie: Some of our happiest and most memorable hiking experiences have been in the rain. One time in Aspen/Snowmass it rained virtually every day of our 8 day trip and the hiking in those aspen woods and around various lakes and mountains was as lovely as could be. Had a special kind of magic to it. The rain was usually (not always) fairly light though. And the air wasn't cold. I think I'd not be able to enjoy hiking in bitter weather.
Good luck!
