Nova Scotia bound. And need help!
We are going to take the ferry to Yarmouth from Portland and need to travel to Halifax in three days time where we meet a sailboat and sail to Massachusetts coast. We need to know where to stop for touring cause we are traveling by bus. So we wanted to get off the bus and stay at a B&B and experience the local sights. We would love to experience any festivals going on anywhere in route. I was interested in the fossil place in Moncton but am up for anything if it is fun! Any tips or ideas would be appreciated. Also wondered about a bus or train straight Cross the country. Or what is the best route to take? Leaving next week! Thanks for any help!!!

Lunenburg is lovely and it's on the way to Halifax when you're coming from Yarmouth. Moncton is about 3 hours away in a car, so really not close to Halifax if you don't have your own vehicle. Are you planning to go across the country in 3 days?

Hi and thank you for your responses. Yes, across the Province from Yarmouth to Halifax. We plan to travel by bus and plan to be in Halifax by around the 16th. We are leaving by ferry from Portland the 13th. Not sure of the route the buses take. Thanks again.

Where you stop depends on the route the bus takes. If it is along the north shore you can visit Annapolis Royal, Digby, Wolfville and onto Halifax. If the route is along the south shore you can visit Lunenburg and Mahone Bay as JulieGilman suggests.
