Niagara/ Cave of the winds or Journey behind the falls?

Hi. I am planning on taking a family vacation soon and want to know which is better? Cave of the Winds (American) or Journey behind the falls (Canadian).
Also as far as planning the sequence of what to do sucvh as Maid of the Mist, Cave of the winds Imax etc. does it take a signifigant amount of time to get from one to the other and is it worthwhile getting a people mover ? or just taking my car?
Thanks everbody for your help.

snoopy (what kind of dumb name is that?)

The Maid of the Mist will be the exact same ride whether taken from the American or Canadian side. The lines are usually shorter on the American side, although they move along relatively fast on both sides.

Cave of the Winds will take you to a walkway were you literally stand right next to the American Falls near the bottom. Journey behind the Falls will take you on a walkway where you are standing behind the Canadian Falls about halfway down ... both are cool. (I think there are alot of stairs with Cave of Winds versus Journey if that makes a difference; but I'm not sure.) If doing the Maid of the Mist from the American side, I would probably do the Journey Behind because after you get off the boat at the end, you can walk over near the spot (but not quite as close) as where you can view the American Falls from Cave of Winds.

well thanks Cher.
I am back. We had a blast, did only the Cave of the winds and got totally SOAKED (as in swimming pool soaked) my daughters enjoyed it immensely . The Maid of the mist was not as spectacular as i remember it being (but that might have to do with anything that you see as a teenager looks bigger and better).
Whirpool Jet Boat in Niagara on the Lake is a excellent thing to do, great fun (didnt take my kids though).AWESOME and super wet.

Glad to hear that you had a good time. The whirlpool jet boat ride is quite a thrill ... I'd love to do it again myself!

Been to the Falls twice and both in February, and going behind the Falls when they were frozen was pretty freaky!

We are going back this October so it will be interesting to see the Falls unfrozen!
