Montreal - Location question

We will be travelling to Montreal later in the year and have a question about the location of a B&B we are considering. It is on Argyle near Guy. Is this an OK location? The B&B is called Les Bons Matins.

Thank you in advance.

As long as it's north of Rene Levesque. It's appears to be in the marche Le Fauburg area and Concordia University downtown campus. Not the classiest area but adequate.Depends on your age.

Hmmmm... We are mid 30's. Typically we like to stay in the better neighborhoods. Maybe this isn't so great.

This location is fairly central, but right around there has always been pretty seedy. There must be something better! For a cool/foreign atmosphere, try for the "plateau" area.

Guy is close to many things, but this street itself is not the best, many University students and such. I would say something on Peel or Sherbrooke may be more to your liking.

Stick to area between Sherbrooke and Rene Levesque(north/south) and between Guy and Parc(east/west).Chateau Versaille's boutique hotel is lovely.Try the Delta, the Vogue, the Queen Elizabeth,Sheraton, Ritz Carlton.

My husband and I visited Montreal last July and stayed at a great hotel in "Old Montreal". Don't let the word old discourage you. This is really a beautiful part of the city and there are many great restaurants and alot to see. It is also by the Port of Montreal.

The hotel is Auberge Bonaparte and they have a website. They serve a full complimentary breakfast in their restaurant next door each morning. You enter from the lobby of the hotel. The food and service is excellent.

www.bonaparte.com

Thanks everyone for all of the input. I think we've decided to steer clear of the seedy area. We were hoping to do either a b&b or a small hotel. The Bonaparte looks fabulous. And the rates are pretty much exactly what we were hoping to spend. Thanks again. I will post another question about our overall itinerary. Any input is greatly appreciated!
