montreal b&b

A friend and I will be in montreal in late sept and need to find a hotel/b&b, preferably near the village, for under $200/night. I would prefer a hotel that serves breakfast so I don't have to worry about finding that first meal of the day.

There are countless b&b's in or near the village section of Montreal. The last b&b my wife and I stayed at was on Sherbrooke and Laval, a pleasant neighborhood near St. Denis, and a short walk to the village. It was $90 a night CDN with a full breakfast. The room was spacious and clean. The name was Bienevue b&b. It is now difficult to locate many of the b&bs, since signs are no longer permitted in residential areas.

Well, I am not sure about the distance to the Village from this boutique hotel, but would highly recommend it. We stayed for 3 nights last week. It is called Anne Ma Soeur Anne and is located on 4119 Rue St. Denis - right in the heart of all the restaurants and shopping district. 15 minute walk to Old Montreal. Perfect location. The hotel was extremely clean and well priced. WE had a two bedroom, two bath suite for $185/night. Complimentary croissants, coffee and juice but loads of places to have coffee and pastries or a full breakfast in the morning.

Zootsi, I see your posts - helpful. Perhaps you'll know: I stayed on Sherbrooke, in two old mansions that had been joined. I'm looking for the name for a reservation. Is it Versailles - seems that might have been it, but I'm not sure. Many thanks, Smiles.

It must be Château Versailles, one lower building is across the street from the high rise; we stayed there when we moved to Mtl.. Very nice and well managed.

Yes, you're correct - I just talked to them, and have the reservation. This is where I stayed twice before - just wasn't sure of the name. Many thanks, Smiles
