Marineland---Worth It For 4 yr old ?

Considering a jaunt up to Niagara Falls and wondered if Marineland was worthwhile for a very inquisitive 4 year old grand daughter? Thanks Pete

Sort of expensive, if you think of it as "educational" but if the price does not really matter, you'll find yourself with a four year old with a huge smile.

My son was there when he was five, and loved it, and has been back several times since. And a relative who lives in Niagara Falls and is a grade one teacher takes lots of her clases, and younger kids too, often.

If you're in NF, she'll also probably really enjoy the Butterfly Conservatory, too.

There are SO many better places. I'd save Marineland for should you run out of other things to do.

No to Marineland...not worth it - over hyped in my opinion and very expensive.

Marineland is on the expensive side, but your park tickets get you into all the shows. We went to Marineland in San Diego, and I understand they are all about the same. If you're from the US, the exchange rate will help. The Park usually offer discount tickets for certain categories of patron - you might try to see if you qualify for a discounted ticket. If not, the local tourist bureaus will most likely have "discounted coupons" for a few bucks off each ticket.

I disagree with the others who suggest you go elsewhere. Where else can you get close to show-off orcas? Sure, you can go to Vancouver Island in BC, but that's one heck of a way out of the way! We enjoyed our day at Marineland with our 11 and 7 year olds. Both had a great time despite the crowds (we parents liked it also). It's not someplace we'd go to frequently, but we think we got our money's worth. BAK is right about the Butterfly Conservatory, too! Take a camera because your little one will have a ball!

It is only worth it because there is nowhere else around here to see whales/dolphins. But if you do go, bear in mind that you will probably leave feeling like you got ripped off... There are surprisingly very very few actual marine animal exhibits. When I went there last summer there wasn't even an aquarium, just a pond full of grey fish. Other than that there is a small pool with 2 dolphins swimming around, and a large pool with belugas and orcas. The majority of Marineland is taken up by fast food restaurants and food stands - after an hour or so we ran out of things to do and look at! Butterfly conservatory is beautiful though!
