Loews Hotel Montreal

is this a nice hotel with a good location? It sounds pretty good to me. Still not sure as you can probably see from my postings...

Montreal has lots of good locations for hotels.

This is close to the main museum, close to excellent shopping, near some wonderful restaurants ... so it is a fine choice.

And a very nice hotel.

The Loew's Hotel Vogue in Montreal is a great hotel and is almost guaranteed to show up on any "top 3" hotels in Montreal list. That being said, I think the location is not too great. It's far from the Old Port and in a sorta dinghy area, though it is close to the musee des beaux arts and the shopping of Ogilvie's and Holt Renfrew. I would suggest the Omni though for a more central location or if you want to focus on Old Montreal, there are many new small very well regarded boutique hotels there. Check out the brand new Sofitel too.

I have moved to the Omni. They have a pool and that is what I really want.

It is barely a 10 minute walk from the Loews to the Omni but yes it is that much closer to old montreal and very close to Peel metro station.
If you enter les Cours Mt Royal, at Peel and de Maisonneuve, you will be able to connect to many places through the underground accesses.... including the metro....
There is a nice spa on the lower level of the omni....

tina,
We used to stay at the Omni years ago, and before when it was Westin. It is a fine hotel. I always requested a room on a high floor, facing Sherbrook and Mt Royal.
