I have just come back from Kelowna. I think every 'family' chain conceived by mankind is there but very few unique ones with the very important exception of the numerous wineries around there. I hear that the chefs are as good as the vintners and the vintners are very good. I keep meaning to try one but didn't this last visit so hopefully some others will help out with their reccomendations or at least a website.

One of my favorites is the Wild Apple Grill at Manteo Resort. There is no better place to be on a warm summer night, than the Patio there.
It is right on the lake.
Also for lakeside dining there is the restaurant at the Hotel Eldorado.
Or Lake Okanagan Resort, but that is about 20 minutes out of town.
The Mon Thong is a great Thai restaurant downtown, and the Mongolian BBQ is a fun place where you fill a bowl with your stirfry dinner, and you pay for it by weight, and they cook it on the grill right in front of you.
If you guess the weight exactly right your dinner is free.
Earl's is also popular and right downtown, as is the Keg.

Many of the Wineries also have restaurants. They will usually have great views because they are usually on the hillsides. Summerhill comes to mind, as well as Quailsgate.
Hope this helps.

I just thought of another one.
If you like greek food there is the neatest little place in Winfield called the Greek House Restaurant.
Great Atmosphere and fabulous food. You will need to check on when they are open when you get here, and make reservations.

If you have the time, visit the pretty little town of Summerland, just down the valley about 1/2 to 3/4 of an hour (and a scenic drive...) There on the main street you will find The Bistro and one of the best meals you will enjoy anywhere. One of the owners is Italian and the other lives to serve, with a smile...everything fresh and imaginative and fabulous desserts.
