Hotel recommendations in Campbell River, BC.

What hotels/motels do you recommend to stay in the Campbell River, BC area.

Did anyone ever stay in Painter's Lodge or April Point Resort?

I have stayed at both. How long are you planning to be in the area and what will you be doing? That may help determine which you choose.

There's also Strathcona Park Lodge not too far from Campbell River which is a completely different experience.

There is a lovely and reasonably priced (Lodge Tsa Kwa Luten)
on Quadra Island which is just a little ferry ride across the strait. Its a great spot if you want to hike etc. Campbell River itsel doesn't have much as far as a city goes so this makes a nice getaway.

Here is the website for the ferry schedule as well

April Point and Painters Lodge are both lovely but a lot pricier. April Point is also on Quadra Island you can see it across the strait from Painters Lodge. You get to April Point by water taxi (not the BC Ferry).

Basically if money is no object either of those are gorgeous but Tsa Ka Luten is really very nice and a lot more reasonable.

I've stayed there too...it is indeed nice. I'm not sure I'd necessarily suggest someone stay on Quadra though unless they really wanted to chill out and do activities available on the island, and not go back and forth on the ferry...that's why I asked about the OP's plans.

Yes I agree with you but April Point is also on Quadra so I thought it was a good alternative. Of course the budget makes the difference. Also depends on if layashana has a car. Nice predicament to have!!!

Thanks- I was not aware that April Point was on Quadra - I plan to spend 2 nights in Campbell River area. We like to take take hikes that don't have too much elevation when we travel.I will check out Tsa Ka Luten.

I did a couple hikes in Strathcona Park that didn't have a lot of elevation gain at all. If you like national park lodge style accommodations you might enjoy the lodge--it certainly has a beautiful setting.

If you do decide you want to be on the mainland in Campbell River, Painters Lodge is fine, although IMO not quite as nice as you might think it's going to be from the website.

We love Seaside Cottage. There's nothing better than sitting outside on the deck, watching the eagles fly around and seeing the cruise ships come right by. Amazing!
