Hotel in good location

My fiance and I are trying to plan a short "getaway" to Montreal right after our wedding in August (honeymoon will come later...). We have never been to Montreal, and we are searching for a hotel that is in a good location (accessible to dining, shopping, etc.) and around $100-$150 per night. Any suggestions?

Suggestions for romantic dining spots or other "must see/do" activities are welcome, also. Thanks!

Check out Anne Ma Soeur Ma Soeur. Right on Rue St. Denis and in the heart of restaurants, shopping district, 5 minutes to St. Catherine and about a 15-20 minute walk to Old Montreal.

This hotel was perfect but booked up. Do you know of anything else like this one in the same price range?

It isn't officially your honeymoon, so I think you might dare to use "Priceline" to land something perhaps more expensive than what you would normally book on your own, BUT which would be affordable because of priceline.

go to www.biddingfortravel.com to read up on various possible Montreal hotels they feature, and on samples of what others are getting rooms for.

As Montreal is on an island, it is fairly flat and quite reasonable for long walks. If you're from (somewhere in the U.S.)... just the french signage will make much of that walking fairly interesting.

At least give Priceline a look for what you need.

I got a very good price for four nights in Montreal at the Hotel XIX Siecle on luxury link. If you are reluctant to use priceline, this might work for you. Call the hotel on which you are bidding BEFORE you bid to assure availability. Have a good visit.
