Hotel and car rental in Vancouver
Does anyone have any favourite sites they use for car rental, aside from Expedia and Travelocity? Or I might be better just checking out all the individual car rental sites.
Also does anyone have any ideas for a 'cheap' motel near the airport? I'm really just looking for a bed for the night and don't want to spend any more than I have to....well within reason!!! I want to be safe...
Any help would be appreciated.

If you check out www.BetterBidding.com you can see a bunch of discount internet codes that a user posted for use with various car rental companies(in the "Other Deals" section)

The site mostly covers Priceline and Hotwire, so they may also be able to help you out with an inexpensive hotel, in addition to a car rental thru those services as well.

Thank you Bo..
Now for a dumb question.
Can I use those codes, even if I'm not booking the car rentral through those particular airlines or places like Costco?
I'm thinking of using Priceline, for the hotel. I've had good luck with them, but have never used Hotwire. I'll check out both.
Thanks again.

Kodi,

I'm not sure, i would imagine so, but i would post that question at that message board and hopefully the original poster will know if they "check".

I would think if you book online and use the codes, then just bring the confirmation printout with you it will be ok (as long as the printout doesn't say "must present coupon". But asking the orginal poster would probably be best, as i'm sure s/he has first hand experience using them.

Kodi,

FYI, i noticed that you received a reply to your post, just thought i'd let you know

Once you find your best price with coupons, i usually check out Hotwire's offering as well as putting in one bid on Priceline to see if i can beat it (just don't forget to account for each's fee when bidding/purchasing)

What was your really good deal with Priceline? If you haven't done so already, i know that board would appreciate it if you posted your results.

Thanks Bo. I've printed out the post on the car codes.
I've also posted my 'good deal' from priceline for the Renaissance Vancouver HOtel. As I mention on my post, I got ahead of myself and checked off 3*, but I'm happy. I have decided to stay downtown instead of the airport.
From what I understand, Canadians cannot bid for car rentals (or airfares) on priceline because they need an acurate address.
For hotels, it works for Canadians because the address isn't so vital and we have to fudge our address to make the state and zip code 'fit' to pricelines format. I've never had a problem with hotels, but car rentals is another story....they would need my drivers licence.
Also I have to consider our darn poor 'loonie' and the poor exchange rate when bidding.
Thanks for the help.
