Honeymoon in Vancouver area
We are honeymooning in Vancouver in August and was wondering if anyone had any ideas on where we should stay. I've looked into staying at the Opus Hotel (they have the coolest rooms!), but I'd like some other options. We'd like to stay under $150 USD/night. Any other advice would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Perhaps you would enjoy being by the waterfront. If so, check the rates at the Pan Pacific, Waterfront Hotel, or Delta Pinnacle to name a few. There is something romantic about being near the water & within view of the mountains, I think, since you've chosen Vancouver for your honeymoon. Depending on the prices you find you would probably enjoy the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver (beautiful, well-situated hotel), Sutton Place (it's good enough for JLo and Ben), and there's always many favourable comments about The Wedgewood). As I mentioned on an earlier post we like the Hyatt Regency, especially because we got a great rate on Priceline. Check out expedia.ca also for rates and descriptions.

Well, I have never been to Vancouver- but I saw so many nice ones while I was researching my trip (visiting in September) I will be staying at the Johnson Heritage House... you have to see their website!! WOW! They have a honeymoon suit called the Carousel Suite which has a mermaid themed bathroom! GORGEOUS!! http://www.johnsons-inn-vancouver.com/ but there are other B&B's (a lot actually) around Vancouver that look incredible. You need to book now though because summer time is very busy in Vancouver (apparently) A good idea is just to do a web search and type in B&B's in Vancouver.
I always stay in B&B's. I love it!! The rooms are always prettier and more comfortable than a hotel...plus the food is always really good. Also, you get a lot of little "extras" That you can only get from a B&B.
If you have any more questions, PLEASE email me. I love talking travel.

Hi again!
I just saw they have a B&B link on this site...I didn't see it because I rarely scroll down the page! In case you didn't see it, here is the URL

Well..a good friend is getting married in Vancouver. She spends a great of time there. She has booked folks into the Pinnacle and the Wedgewood as well as O'Canada House. She has checked out many of the hotels in Vancouver both as a guest and as a person looking to put up her friends. She is staying in a suite at the Wedgewood for 5 days as part of her honeymoon..and its absolutely thrilled. I'd say check it out through the priceline or BC bargains website. We are staying at O'Canada in September for 5 days. The bride went there after our recommendation and loved it..since then another friend has gone there and loved it as well. Check out their website..in addition to the beauty and being in the West End..folks who have met the innkeeper remark consistently about what a nice person she is. The breakfast is said to be great as well. You can find rooms for under $150 US/noc. Check out the North Suite with its views of downtown. The West End is a great place to stay. Also..the bride did just return from a last minute wedding prep trip and stayed at the Granville Hotel on Granville ISland. She thought the rooms were wonderful. This will be in your price range as well.

Just a thought for an off the beaten track honeymoon, the Sylvia Hotel, located in the west end is a wonderful, very popular older hotel on English bay that could probably do justice to a honeymoon experience. You would need a taxi to get to it if you didn't have a car. Another plus to this hotel is that in August they have the Symphony of Fire fireworks contest in English Bay which would be right outside your hotel. Check it out at www.sylviahotel.com. Good Luck
