Honeymoon in Squamish (Furry Creek)?
We're getting married in early April '05 and may have an opportunity to have a 10-14 day stay in a house on the Furry Creek Golf Course 10 minutes South of Squamish. I was originally interested because I thought it was much closer to Whistler (and all of it's restaurants). Now I find it's actually about an hour from either Whistler or V.C. Is there anything to do in Squamish? Is free lodging worth being in Furry Creek for 2 weeks for people that don't play golf?
Thanks.
Thanks.

It sure wouldn't be my choice for a honeymoon! Especially if you don't golf and especially for 2 whole weeks.
Where are you coming from? What do you like to do?
Squamish is pretty much a blue collar town. Nice mountains around, but... not enough there to keep most people hanging around for a 2 week holiday.
If you wanted to use it as a base and do day trip/overnight trips from there, well then maybe you could consider it. It would be possible to drive into Whistler or Vancouver often but that is a considerable amount of driving.

I second Taggie's response. Furry Creek is a new housing development buit right off Highway 99 which runs between Whistler, Squamish and Vancouver. There is really nothing to do there except golf and you won't be able to walk or drive to anything unless you take the Highway.
Squamish would not be my pick for a honeymoon destination. The town itself is very unappealing with lots of big box stores and drive through restaurants.
The one exception to all this might (and I stress the might) be if you are big hikers since there's lots of nice hiking around that area.

As mentioned absolutely not!.
If this was another board here someone would have accused you of trolling by now but we're a very genteel bunch.
