Halifax in Late June
If Tango allows me to do so I will be arriving in Halifax on June 22 for a four night visit before flying off to Montreal for the first weekend of the Jazz Festival (YESSS!).
Since I will be in Halifax for only Monday to Thursday afternoon can anybody fill me in on what the pub scene is like early in the week (live music or lively evenings so early in the week)? Are there any pub tours that can be recommended so a solo traveller can meet other people?
I have never been to Halifax so any advice is appreciated.
Thanks!

Well, walk a block and you will find a pub! Lots of music happening although the big parties are usually on the weekends. You will find a large collection of jazz, celtic, alternative, etc. Haligonians are friendly people - you won't have any problems making friends!

You are most welcome Elwood! I am sure you will totally enjoy Halifax! If you want a good breakfast during the morning hours at a cheap price, check out Nick's at Maritme Centre in the food court. A full breakfast including coffee is only $3.50 taxes in!

Later in the week is best for the pubs. Try:
The Lower Deck
Father's Mustache
Old Triangle
Split Crow.
You can't walk 2 minutes without hitting a pub. If you're going to be out very late, stick to the areas around "Pizza Corner" and not Gottigen Street.
Have a blast and a pint for me!
