Any recommendations for a hotel to get in Vancouver for my engagement night? Plan to propose on our trip to Vancouver in August and want a pretty nice room for the night. Looking in the price range of $200-$250 and would rather get a great room in a 4 star hotel than a so so room in a 5 star. Any ideas?

Definitely the Wedgewood, and you might even let them know it's a special night; they might provide a few extras.

The Wedgewood would also be my choice, although if you get a jr. (or better) suite at either the Fairmont or the Sutton Place you'll also really enjoy yourselves. Further, good friends of mine just spent their wedding night at the Pan Pacific and were treated like royalty. They called ahead and told them it was a special occasion and got a free room upgrade. I don't know if that would work for an engagement but you never know.
