Driving east from Vancouver to West Glacier & Glacier National Park
We have spent a glorious week in Victoria and Vancouver and are ready to drive across Canada with our rental car to Glacier National Park--specifically first to West Glacier. What is the best route to take? Going south on Hwy 95 into Idaho and onto Hwy 2 across to Kalispell and to Columbia Falls into Coram? Or going north staying on Hwy 3 until 93 going into Whitefish, Columbia Falls on into Coram. Since we leave in the morning to start our jaunt we need some answers by tomorrow evening when we stop in Grand Junction. Thanks!

Hi Ann,
Ass you will be crossing at least 4 mountain ranges, all options will be very nice! I like the route through Eureka and Whitefish Hwy93 (Option 3). Be aware that some customs gates are not opened 24/24 hours. If spare time, choose the 3a as a scenic alternative to the 3 where applicable. Even more I recommend the Chesaw road as a awful scenic byway: Hwy3-Osoyoos-Oroville-Chesaw-Midway-Back on Hwy3.
Have fun!
