calling all skiers
I have an opportunity to go to Whistler in January 2008. The dates are from the 5th to the 12th. Will there be enough snow to ski that early in the year? How have the snow conditions been at that time the past few years?
Please help me decide.

January is not early in the ski season and Whistler is expecting to open November 22, 2007.

We were in Whistler last December between Christmas and New Year's. It was incredible...the best snow we've ever skiied on. Of course, though, it was a record year for them. Just beautiful...you're in for a real treat!
We enjoyed skiing Blackcomb more than Whistler. Their gondolas are practically next to each other. If the lines are long at Whistler, walk over to Blackcomb...it's generally far less crowded.
Have a great time!
You'll enjoy the village, too. Wonderful restaurants, bars and shopping!

Snow conditions vary.I go almost every christmas.Last year enough snow to cross country, the year before no,but later on.As far as downhill they do have snow making machinces, and even skiing in the summertime. One of my favorite places. The snow isn't like silver star, but the coverage is better.I have enjoyed this area since 86 and just got back from a summer trip last sunday.Have a great ime.you will fall in love with this village
