Calgary - need restaurant suggestions for lunch

I've already searched the forum for restaurant ideas, but the threads were several years old, so ---

We will be arriving in Calgary early afternoon and would like to eat before heading out to Jasper. Any suggestions for something quick, i.e., good deli sandwiches, pizza, etc. or something we could take with us. Don't bother suggesting McDonald's, Wendy's, etc.

Thanks

Assuming you're coming in via air and heading out the #1 towards Banff...

You could stop off at the Lazy Loaf & Kettle which is a popular place for people to meet before heading to the mountains:

You can also browse through the Calgary restaurant listings here:

Thanks Shelli - that's exactly what I'm looking for. And yes, you're assumption is correct.

I guess i should also ask -- are there any particular places we should avoid???

Spolumbo's of course! I would order their famous a chicken/apple sausage to eat hot and take along a "special" sandwich for that long ride to Jasper. Good idea to stop for a picnic along the way.
