buffalo mountain lodge or rimrock

I am planning on travelling to Banff in August and heard that Buffalo Mountain Lodge does not have air conditioning. Has anyone stayed here in August and how hot do the rooms get? What about Rimrock?

We visited Banff middle August 2005 and we had temperatures between 40F and 52F with fresh snow on the mountains.

I recommend to look for a room with heater and a cosy fire place.

I have never been in Banff in the summer but I understand it is not that hot.

No, the BML does not have AC.

I stayed in the BML this winter: the rooms are very cosy and spacious. Maybe somehwat dark, but it did not realy matter to me (we were out skiing all day). Our room had a great fireplace, spacious bathroom, and a balcony. Architecture of the place is nice made of typical Canadian timbers. The bar area is kind of in the open lobby and is therefore lacking in character.

Hope it helps.

We were at BML at the end of June and had no problem without air conditioning. The room was pretty warm when we checked in, but we opened the front and back doors of our unit(we had a Premier room - I think that's what it was called) and it was cooled off within minutes. Short of an extreme heatwave, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Failed to add: We didn't stay at the Rimrock, but decided we would consider it in the future because it looked like there would be a great view, there is a gondola very close to it, and there were not the huge crowds of people & buses that were at Banff Springs.

I've stayed at the Rimrock a few times. Great place, make sure to request a mountain view room. Nice rooms, great buffet breakfast. Close to mineral pool and gondola ride.
I would go back in a second.
