Best Ontario Fall Fair this weekend?

The weather is so nice, the convertible isn't put away for the winter yet, and I've made SO promise not to work this weekend. I'd love to get in the car, put the top down and drive out into the country to a good fall fair.

This weekend is September 22-23 -- where's there a great fall fair within max. 2 hours' drive from Toronto. I've done an internet search so I know where most of them are, but I want your personal recommendations!

The Lindsay Central Exhibition is on this weekend, and I've been to it several times. It's worth a visit.

However, if you want a real country fair experience, you should head to the International Plowing Match near Crosby, up in the Rideau Lakes. It's a great part of the province and the match is much much more than just the competition. Here's the link:

hdm, is Milton on your list? I think it's this weekend. Sinced I lived in Milton for a number of years, I'm biased, but most events that Milton hosts are well planned and fun.

Yup, Milton's on this weekend and Crosby looks good too. How far a drive do you think Crosby is from Toronto?

It's lookin' good for a fall fair! &lt

hdm: Crosby is about a 30 minute drive north of Kingston. Depending on where you start in Toronto, it should take just a bit more than 3 hours to get there.

There's a fall fair in Stratford this weekend. Bonus is that Stratford itself is a nice town to walk around on a lovely weekend, weather will be great for strolling along the lake or the shops and sidewalk patios.

Niagara Wine Festival is centered in St. Catharines, can't remember the name of the park, but they have an arts & crafts market, food and wine booths, cooking demonstrations, etc.

Following weekend it's the Wellesley Cheese and Apple Butter Festival on Saturday 29th.

We decided on the Stratford fall fair -- just far enough for a nice drive but not so far we'll be spending all day in the car, a fair to visit and a nice town to browse around and maybe stay for dinner.

Thanks, y'all.
