Bank / Lake Louise Skiing
After reading and seeing on the news many horror stories of shattered skier's dreams in the wetness of a string of wet days in Whistler, I am getting anxious.
We will spend the two first weeks of February in Lake Louise and Banff. Is there snow (a little bit or tons of snow) What are the ski conditions in the resorts around Lake Louise / Banff. Also what temperatures should we expect this year.
I thank you in advance for your kind replies.

The Weather Network site provides you with ski and weather reports for most resorts in Canada. Here's the link:
http://www.theweathernetwork.com/fea...an.htm#Alberta
You can also go to the individual resort sites e.g.
http://www.skilouise.com/snowreport/
http://www.skibanff.com/conditions/snowreport.php
Most resort websites also have webcams so you can see for yourself. From these reports, things seem pretty good in the Banff area.
I also know from personal accounts that the conditions are also good at Kicking Horse in Golden BC, not far west of Lake Louise.
Remember that the Rockies are a long way from Whistler and the Coast Mountains, and conditions can vary greatly. Last year when BC had one of its warmest winters in many years and Whistler was rained out for much of the season, I skied at Panorama BC and Kicking Horse, and while not ideal, conditions were decent enough. This year, things seem to be much better so far. I'll be there in late February (KH, Lake Louise and Sunshine).
Enjoy your trip.

Thank Laverendry.
Any othe reports from skiers (or boarders) back from recent trips there?
What temperatures (in celcius) should I expect during the two first weeks of February? Also, do you know if there are long queues before boarding chairs or gondolas on the slopes?
Knowledge is the key so any responses are always very much appreciated.
Kind regards.

Thank you Judy for your response. I am really surprised. This is much higher than I thought!! Not much different from European ski resorts temps.
And I thought that we will need to ski in -20c everyday........
