Air Canada Seat Sales

Does anyone know when Air Canada usually has its seat sale after the Christmas holidays?

I seem to recall that they have one shortly after the new year. Was wondering if anyone pays attn to it, and knows if this is true (of course, I know things can be different this year).

I'm looking to go to Vancouver in mid-Jan and was wondering if I should hold out for the sale.

Enjoy-la!

My guess is they probably will have a seat sale after the New Year Holiday, but when will they announce it?...I don't know. It seems that Westjet has sales regularly and Air Canada is quick to match their prices. I would watch the newspapers regularly for sales, or you can register with Westjet for email announcements of seat sales and then you can bet Air Canada will follow suit.

Thx a mint for your reply, Scotia.

Good point to watch West Jet. I signed up for their e-announcements this summer and picked up tix for a trip to Winnipeg in October. I'll keep my eye on them for my Vancouver trip.

Enjoy-la!

I get e-mails from Air Canada regarding their sales all the time - I must have signed up for them but can't remember doing so.

Anyway, perhaps if you have a look at their website you can register and you'll hear about seat sales right away.

curiousx, thx a mint for those details - that's the type of info I was hoping for - tho yours was much more detailed than I'd expected (=

Scotia - fab post (= I checked it out and even with the AC sale, the flight is still $230 more than comparable flights on US airlines.

My mid-Jan travel date would make the booking awfully close to the Jan 9 (last yr's I know) announcement. As the US airlines' flights appear less expensive anyways, I think I will hold off on booking until closer to the date, especially with the economy going the way it is.

Thx all for helping me think this thru - Enjoy-la!

The cheapest flight to Barbados from Toronto on the recently announced AC seat sale is $528 return plus $212 taxes and surcharges. Bookings are still being accepted.
