Advice for Dinner on Salt Spring Island
We will be staying at Anne's Oceanfront Hideaway in a couple of weeks and would like to get some dinner suggestions. We will be there two nights. Anything goes but would love one night at a restaurant with a great wine list.

I don't know what your budget is like, but if you want a dinner experience you'll never forget you should go to Hastings House (www.hastingshouse.com). I have eaten there and it was superb. I"m sure the wine list is superb too.

Thanks for the tip. Since we are there two nights I think we will eat one high end meal and one more less expensive meal. House Picola was mentioned in one post I read but I really don't know anything about it. Any more suggestions out there?

Hi apseals,
Mu husband and I stayed at Anne's Oceanfront Hideaway last September for one night. We really enjoyed the view and the nice room we had. We had a room with a large jaguzzi tub in it. Wonderful comfortable bed!! The hosts were very friendly.
We ate dinner at House Picolo. It was fantastic! I honestly cannot remember what we had, but I do remember it was really good and the wine we had was also very good. It is very tiny but nice. Not super expensive.
Go into chowhounds.com. You can search for restaurants by cities. That is where I find out about places to eat on vacation. (Not sure Salt Spring Island is in there.) Have a great time on your trip.

If you're interested in a cheap 'n cheerful lunch, go to the pub at Vesuvius; you can watch the ferry go back and forth from Crofton, and they have the BEST salads and the absolutely best french fries we've ever had. I don't know what they do to those fries to make them so good, but they're amazing.
