Accommodation needed in Toronto

Hi there
Myself and 8 of my college friends (9 altogether) are travelling from Ireland to live and work in Toronto this summer. We plan on staying for approximately 3 months (June-Aug)and we are currently looking for places to rent. Preferably, we would like to rent affordable, city centre apartments and we are planning to split into two groups of four and five, each staying in seperate apartments. We really need some direction and would really appreciate some help in our search.
Thank you!

Just some ideas although I haven't checked this out- it strikes me that you'll be there whilst University students are on vacation. Do the Universities rent out student accomm like they do in London?
You might like to post adverts in student mags to see if you can take on someone's rental during vacs.

Where will you be working...do you know yet?

The University idea is a good one provided you're near a university - Ryerson or U of T NOT York University -you don't want to stay near it, trust me. Spadina/Bloor/St. George near U of T would be a good area to live.

I meant provided all of you are working somewhere that living near the university makes your commute reasonable. If you're working in Mississauga or Pickering, it's a whole different kettle of fish.
