6 hrs in Toronto

It has been said across the various posts but, to summarize, June 30 is the day before Canada's National holiday ( a three day weekend which we treasure) and the beginning of school vacation. The number of people beginning either a long weekend trip by driving to a cottage combined with those flying out somewhere to start summer vacation will make both the roads and the airport chaotic that afternoon.
On any other day some of these suggestions would be great, but not June 30th. I strongly suggest that you do not leave the airport. US Customs clearance can be a notoriously slow adventure at the best of times. Throw in the holiday travel scenario and YIKES>
If I were travelling to Seatlle on this day from my home, I would plan to arrive at the airport at 3:30 p.m. at the latest, and I would allow twice the time for the drive to the airport (regular = 45 minutes), meaning a local would be out the door at about 2:00 p.m. and nervous about the timing at that. However, I would probably do everything I could in the planning stages to avoid leaving on this day in the first place.
The idea of the Sheraton hotel for lunch and a swim makes a lot of sense.

Hello @ all,
last evening before going to north america! HOLIDAYS!!!!
Thank you all so much for your advices. We will spend our layover tomorrow at the airport. It will be long, but I have packed a good book and my ipod. I think, there are also a lot of possibilities to spend my Canadian dollars, which I have changed. ;-)
