BnB in the Port Douglas Area??

We are planning on visiting Oz for the first time in late Sept-mid October,2006. After spending a week with friends in Melbourne, we plan to fly to Cairns and hope to snorkel(Wavelength) and visit the rainforest(Pete's Daintree Specialized) with tours from Port Douglas.I'm hoping someone can give me suggestions for moderately priced accomodations in that area. We love Bed and Breakfast, and have the pddt.com website, but hope for some help with choosing either BnB or other suggestions. Thanks in advance.

This site is a great resource:

We stayed at a wonderful place in Mossman (Mossman Gorge B&B) and also used the site to find another great place on the Tablelands (Crater Lakes B&B).

We did Wave length last week - great boat and liked the smaller operator instead of a big company like Quicksilver. We stayed in apartments in Port Douglas, there are literally 100's to choose from. The name of the ones we stayed in were called Verandas - strange name but really nice

Check out the Red House Inn in Daintree. It's really lovely and the hosts are wonderful. Good breakfast too I found the rates really reasonable.

We stayed in Verandas too... very nice. Perfectly located around the corner from an ice cream shop/internet cafe that I think was called Wicked? That place had the best shakes that I've ever tasted!
